An isocyante composition, which is a stable liquid above 15 DEG C., is made by heating a bis (isocyanatophenyl) methane (I), which is not normally a stable liquid at 15 DEG C., with 0.1-3 weight per cent of a trihydrocarbyl phosphate at 160-250 DEG C. until the NCO equivalent is 138-200, and blending the product with I to obtain a final mixture with an NCO equivalent 127-144.
