1317491 Blowing lances DEMAG A G 10 Dec 1970 [20 Dec 1969] 58671/70 Heading F4B A lance for delivery of oxygen or powdered lime comprises a shaft having a feed conduit 5 and a jacket 2 with a nozzle head 9 at one end, the conduit 5 and jacket 2 being resiliently interconnected at a point distant from the head 9 to compensate for differential thermal expansion. Flanges 16, 17 are welded to a supply conduit 1 and the jacket 2 respectively, and are spaced by pins 19 which may be expansible. An extension piece 24 welded to the feed conduit 5 is slidable within the flange 17 and about the conduit 1, and a collar 28 of the piece 24 is biased away from flange 17 by compressions springs 30 guided on pins 31.
