PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a prism and to simplify low-cost optical axis adjustment by polishing the tip of the lens of a light emitting element collimator slantingly and forming an interference film filter on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The tip of the lens 5 which collimates light (wavelength lambda1) emitted by the light emitting element 1 of the light emitting element collimator 9 into collimated light is polished slantingly and the interference film filter 8 is formed on the surface to provide the function of a multiplexing and demultiplexing element. The light with the wavelength lambda1 which is emitted by the light emitting element 1 is collimated by the lens 5, converged by the lens 7 of an optical fiber collimator 11, and coupled with an optical fiber 3. Further, light with wavelength lambda2 which is emitted by the optical fiber 3 is collimated by the lens 7, reflected by the interference film filter 8 formed on the slantingly polished surface of the lens 5, and converged by the lens 6 of a light receiving element collimator 10, and the converged light is coupled with a light receiving element 2. |
