1356753 Heater dissipating fins PLAMOURE and P RADAT 21 June 1972 [25 June 1971] 29156/72 Heading H5H To ensure good thermal transfer from the tube 2 of a heating element (using a resistance wire 1 and insulating filling 3) to fins 4, the tube is covered in a conducting metal 6, e.g. zinc, tin, which may extend over the whole surface of the fins as shown. The metal is applied by dipping and the central hole in the fins is oversized so as to ensure penetration of the metal between fin and tube. The element may be used in fluid flow heaters. The tube may be of steel or copper and the fins may be aluminium or steel. The prior art Fig. 1 (not shown) disclosed fins mechanically locked on to the tube.
