One end (2) of the rod (1) is threaded to take the panel fixing screw nut and beneath the thread is a rod holding area (4) for a cylindrical tool to protect the thread during rod fixing. The holding area can be two parallel half flats forming lugs (5) larger than the rod diameter or it can be a machined boss of polygon, square or hexagonal section. The other rod end (3) is a drill and a shoulder (6) forms a stop to limit drill penetration, the shoulder can be the result of the different rod and drill sections or it can be a boss.
