PURPOSE:To prevent the overload due to the intrusion of a filtrate into a vacuum pump and a filtrate pump when the titled dehydrator is restarted and the deterioration of a filter cloth due to the reflux of the filtrate by providing an opening and closing valve to a filtrate return pipe for communicating the upstream side of the opening and closing valve of a suction pipe on the filtration side to a slurry tank. CONSTITUTION:Opening and closing valves 13 and 14 are provided to the filtrate return pipe 8 for communicating the upstream side of the opening and closing valve 7 of the suction pipe 5b on the filtration side to the slurry tank 4. When the vacuum dehydrator is restarted, the opening and closing valves 6 and 7 provided respectively to the suction pipe 5a on the dehydration side and the suction pipe 5b on the filtration side are closed, the opening and closing valves 13 and 14 are opened, and the filtrate filling the insides of a rotating shaft 3 and the suction pipes 5a and 5b on the upstream side of the opening and closing valves 6 and 7 is returned into the slurry tank 4 through the filtrate return pipe 8. Consequently, the overload due to the intrusion of the filtrate into the vacuum pump and the filtrate pump when the vacuum dehydrator is restarted and the deterioration, deformation, breakage, etc., of the filter cloth can be prevented.
