The invention relates to a sealed casing of a reduction gear box with angular transmission especially for transmitting the drive force for the wheels of a self-propelled lawnmower. The sealed casing which comprises a primary shaft provided with a worm and a secondary receiving transverse spindle fitted with a cog meshed in the said worm and which comprises a removable cover fixed to the body by means of a screw, is characterised in that it has means for controlling the deformation of the cover and of the body when the screws are tightened. This characteristic allows the use of plastics for making the casing. The said means are in the form of axial stops 23 arranged on either side of the cover 8 and the body 7 in the region of the passage 24 of the fastening screws for the two components. The invention will particularly find its application in the mechanical industry for making protective casings for geared devices. <IMAGE>
