PURPOSE:To simultaneously record a video signal and to record an audio signal with high quality by providing three magnetic heads with different angle to a rotary cylinder respectively. CONSTITUTION:A 2-channel audio signal from an input terminal 51 is converted into 2 FM signals by a modulator 53, fed to magnetic head groups 58a, 58b and recorded on a magnetic tape 71. Moreover, the 2-channel audio signal from a terminal 51 is converted into a digital signal by a digital signal processing unit 59, fed to magnetic head groups 63a, 63b and recorded on the magnetic tape 71. On the other hand, the video signal from an input terminal 64 is converted into FM luminance signal and a low frequency conversion chrominance signal by a signal processing unit 65, fed to magnetic head groups 70a, 70b and recorded on the magnetic tape 71. Thus, the audio signal and the video signal with high quality are recorded simultaneously.
