PURPOSE:To restore an automatic exchange to a normal operating state by one operation by checking each device in an automatic exchange at a normal operation, storing the result and restarting only the normal device at the occurrence of a fault through the connection. CONSTITUTION:An emergency control circuit allows a central processing unit (CC0 or CC1) in operation at that point of time at every prescribed time to check the normality of each device, the result is stored and displayed on a register CDR. In receiving a fault signal via a processor interface CINF, the control circuit CTL sets the state of connection of each device in restarting the automatic exchange based on the content of the register CDR to a counter ES, a central unit, a main memory and a file memory decided for the use receive the initial set signal, the emergency control program stored in the file memory is stored in the main memory and starts the central processing unit. Thus, the automatic exchange is restored to the normal operating state.
