PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of management data gathering in a product managing device having a system component and a dictionary holding means by determining the form of data managed by the component to input it to a management data editing means and editing the output from this means and dictionary information. CONSTITUTION:A management data editing means 2 and a management data file 3 are connected to hold the system component name and the generation date, and a header record is outputted to management data to complete management data as a record. All management data is outputted and a trailer record is completed, and an operator turns to a monitor means 4 to process the request events from the means 2. Thereafter, a dictionary holding means 6 is operated by information in a message, and management data is registered in a dictionary 7 at each time of operation of the component. The means 6 is operated by an editing means 8 to edit required information.
