摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive mechanism which can be used in a high humidity environment and in water and which is easy to operate. SOLUTION: A drive mechanism 50 which employs an electro-mechanical transducer is composed of a base 51, a support block 52, a piezoelectric device chamber 53 in which a piezoelectric device 17 is housed and which is also used as a support block for a drive shaft 16, the drive shaft 16, a slider block 18, etc. A packing 53b is provided around the opening 53a of the piezoelectric device chamber 53 and, if a cover 54 which shuts the piezoelectric device chamber 53 is fixed, the opening 53a is sealed airtight by the packing 53b. Further, a packing member such as an O-ring is fitted between a hole 53c and the drive shaft 16 to keep the airtightness of the piezoelectric device chamber 53. It is recommended to enclose gas such as dry air or nitrogen gas in the piezoelectric device chamber 53.
