This invention consists in adding weight to connecting rods at the outside part of the head, in the longitudinal direction thereof, in order to transfer its centre of gravity towards said head and consequently to reduce the alternative mass corresponding to the foot of the connecting rod and consequently to reduce the alternative force which originates from said mass. Conversely, it makes it possible to increase the speed of the machine as the alternative force is proportional to the square of said speed. This invention may also be incorporated in connecting rods that have already been constructed, by fitting to them new head covers or the same covers with a counterweight. <IMAGE>
