The method and appliance for producing a rotary machining head possessing a ring of plate-type, outward-extending elements fixed to a center core (4). At least one strip (1) is inserted into radial guide slots (2) in at least one plate-shaped holder (3). An element (5) is cut off to a set length by means of a cutter (6). The inner end sides of the elements are stuck to the core. A forward thrust arrangement has a control for the strip material. A rotor arrangement turns in stages with the forward thrust arrangement. A tapping arrangement and pressure roller (13) push the elements into the guide slots.
