PURPOSE: A hood locking device for a vehicle is provided to open and close a hood with one hasp, passing through 2 stages, and to simply mechanism by reducing the number of springs. CONSTITUTION: A hood locking device for a vehicle consists of a body plate(51), a hood hook(52), a latch plate(54), a stopper plate(55), a latch spring(56), a hook spring(53), and a stopper(51c). In the case of closing a hood(60), a hasp(61) pushes a hood hook(52) back, contacting with the upper portion of the hood hook(52), and the hood hook(52) is pushed back. The hasp(61) enters into space between a guide hole(51b) of the body plate(51) and a hood hole(52c) of the hood hook(52), and is secured to an engaging portion of the hood hook(52a) at first, inserted an engaging portion(54a) of the latch plate(54). When the hood is completely pushed down, and the hasp is moved down. After that, the latch plate(54) pivots counterclockwise, overcoming the elastic force of the latch spring(56), and the latch plate(54) is secured to a stopper plate(55), keeping up locking of the hood(60). If a user pulls a hood opening lever, the stopper plate(55) pivots clockwise on a hinge(55h) to overcome the elastic force of the latch spring(56), and releases locking of the hood(60), but the hasp(61) is still secured to the engaging portion(52a). To open the hood completely, the user pushes back and rotates an operating bent portion(52b) of the hood hook(52), the hasp(61) is separated from the engaging portion(52a). |
