FIELD: electrical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed electrochemical cell has first working electrode 32, first counter-electrode 34, second working electrode 36, and second counter-electrode 38; electrodes are spaced apart so that reaction products from first counter-electrode 34 enter first working electrode 32 and reaction products from first and second counter-electrodes 34 and 38 do not enter second working electrode 36.
