A lottery ticket sales service method using an SMS function of a cellular phone is provided to enable a user to purchase a prepaid card for buying a lottery ticket after receiving adult authentication, thus the user can buy lottery tickets by using an SMS function of a cellular phone regardless of time and space. A usage authentication request message is sent to a lottery ticket sales server through an SMS function of a cellular phone(S10). Usage authentication is demanded, so that a lottery ticket is paid through a prepaid card for lottery ticket purchasing(S20). A prepaid card DB is updated or generated, and data is transmitted to the sales server(S30). An authentication message for authenticating a right to use the prepaid card and data of the prepaid card are transmitted(S40). A lottery ticket purchase request message is sent through the SMS function(S50). A prepaid card data server is requested to settle accounts(S60). The updated prepaid card data is transmitted to the sales server(S70). The data is sent to a buyer through an SMS(S80).
