An AV(AudioVisual) device and a control method thereof are provided to have a function which reproduces at least one of an image and a voice and to discriminate conveniently whether or not an electronic device of a transmission side is set up by a user so that the user may conveniently handle the AV device. Digital data outputted from an optical disk player are supplied to an input terminal(15) of a TV set(12) through a TMDS signal transmission path(14), and digital data are supplied to an HDMI receiver(16). The supplied signal is split into a digital image signal and a digital voice signal. The digital image signal is supplied an image processor(18) which constitutes a reproduction unit(17) and is signal-processed, and then the image is displayed on a flat panel display(19). A controller(22) receives the operation information from an operating unit(22b), and controls each unit to reflect the operation. |
