摘要 PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording medium markedly increased in light fastness and repeated regeneration durability by specifying the infrared absorbing compound contained in the optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium is formed by adding an infrared absorbing compound represented by formula I and/or formula II to an org. dye membrane. In the formulae I, II, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 may be different or same and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a monovalent org. residue and R1 and R2, R3 and R4 and R7 and R8 may be combined to form a 5-, 6 or 7-membered ring, A and B are an aromatic ring which may be substituted with a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a monovalent org. residue and X<-> is an anion. The nitrogen atoms of four aminophenyl groups at the terminals of the infrared absorbing compound and the nitrogen atoms of the center skeleton thereof are positioned at a meta position and, as a monovalent org. residue, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group is especially pref.
