An energy harvesting circuit for safely harvesting electrical energy from an aircraft engine ignition magneto having a P-lead, said circuit comprising: a time-sensitive circuit connecting said P-lead to an AC-to-DC rectifier circuit after a delay from the start of a magneto ignition initiation event to produce a DC output voltage by harvesting unused electrical energy from the ignition magneto P-lead without adversely affecting the ignition initiation event.
