<p>865,937. Regulating road vehicle height. FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI S.p.A. Feb. 3, 1959 [Feb. 12, 1958], No. 3757/59. Class 108(2). The inlet and exhaust valves Vi, Vs, of a road vehicle pneumatic suspension height control valve assembly are adapted to be lifted by respective push rods 3, 3<SP>1</SP> which are operable by a cup-shaped member 16 connected by a lever 15 to the vehicle axle. The edge of the element 16 is divided into two axially staggered sections each extending over approximately a semi-circumference. In the normal position of the suspension, the push rods 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, engage the edge section Ps of the element 16 which is furthest from the valves Vi, Vs. Thus on rotation of the lever 15 from the position shown in either direction, the ends of one or other of the push rods 3, 3<SP>1</SP> is engaged by the other edge section Pi of the element 16 so as to deflect the push rod and thus lift the associated valves Vi, or Vs. When the valve Vi is lifted air can pass from a reservoir (not shown) through conduit connection 4 and the valve Vi to a passage 7, lifting a non-return valve Vr and passing via a port 13 to a conduit connection 4<SP>1</SP> leading to the pneumatic spring (not shown). When the valve Vs is lifted, air passes from the pneumatic spring through conduit connection 4<SP>1</SP>, valve Vs and passage 7<SP>1</SP> to atmosphere.</p> |
