PURPOSE:To avoid the drag state of a friction locking element so as to prevent the lowering of durability by setting such a speed change stage as to integrally rotate the input-out side of speed change gear mechanism for the specified time in case a shift lever is operated into a backward range during forward travel and then reoperated into a forward range. CONSTITUTION:When a shift lever is operated by mistake into an R-range during forward travel and a driver notices this wrong operation and reoperates the shift lever into a forward range such as a D-range, reverse clutch pressure is drained to release a reverse clutch 44, and also forward clutch pressure, 3-4 clutch pressure and coasting clutch pressure are supplied by the setting of a third gear speed solenoid pattern so as to lock a forward clutch 41, a 3-4 clutch 43 and a coasting clutch 42, thus setting the speed change stage to the third gear speed. Since the whole speed change gear mechanism 30 is integrally rotated at the third gear speed, the double-lock state of this speed change gear mechanism 30 is not generated even if a large sun gear 32 is coupled to a turbine shaft 27 by the reverse clutch 44. |
