IMPACT-RESISTANT POLYPHENYLENE SULFIDE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a polyphenylene sulfide resin of improved impact resistance by mixing a polyphenylene sulfide resin having specified components with an ethylene copolymer comprising specified components. CONSTITUTION:70-99wt.% aminated polyphenylene sulfide resin having a melt viscosity of 40P or above is mixed with 30-1wt.% ethylene copolymer comprising 50-90wt.% ethylene, 20-49wt.% alkyl alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylate and 0.5-10wt.% maleic anhydride to obtain a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition. The obtained composition is improved in especially impact resistance without detriment to its inherent moldability and without a reduction in the productivity caused by the necessity for an extra pretreatment.
