[Also in Division E2] A bone compression device comprises a pair of arms 65, 67, a pair of couplings 71, 73 on each arm, two screws 79, each extending between a coupling on one arm and another coupling on the other arm and a rod 91, 93 extending from each arm 65, 67. The rods are adjustable and are held in vertical bores within the arms 65, 67 by screws 95 and 97. In an alternative embodiment (Figures 3-5) the rods (111, 113) are held within vertical tubes (105, 107) mounted on the outside of the arms 65, 67. The rods (111, 113) which in use both extend into bores provided in the bone are formed with a series of peripheral corrugations 121. |
