<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorizing device almost requiring no maintenance by arranging a deodorizing filter formed from foamed iron to the air suction port of a dehumidifying means equipped with a fan or to the air passage of a humidifying means equipped with a fan. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizing filter 3 formed from foamed iron is arranged to the air suction port 11 of a dehumidifying means equipped with a fan or to the air passage of a humidifying means equipped with a fan. This foamed iron is not only a ferrous porous body but also a metal complex whose surface is treated with a chemical agent and, for example, the foamed iron can be obtained by a method wherein urethane foam is coated with an iron powder and heat-treated to form a three-dimensional reticulated iron sintered porous body which is, in turn, dipped in an ascorbic acid solution to form a reaction product of iron-ascorbic acid to the surface layer part of the skeleton of the porous body. As a result, high deodorizing capacity over a long period of time can be obtained without requiring maintenance.</p> |
