1,244,398. Dyeing metal-modified polyolefins. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 15 Oct., 1969 [19 Oct., 1968], No. 50720/69. Heading D1B. Metal-containing polyolefins are dyed or printed by treating with a compound of formula in which A is a benzene or naphthalene radical which may be further substituted by chlorine or bromine or by one or more alkyl groups of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or by a methoxy group the -OH group and the substituent -CH=N- being attached to adjacent carbon atoms, B is a benzene or naphthalene radical which may be further substituted by chlorine or bromine or by one or more alkyl radicals with 1 to 4 carbon atoms and/or alkoxy groups with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, the substituent -OR and the substituent -C-NH- being attached # O to adjacent carbon atoms, R being an alkyl radical of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and A and B cannot simultaneously represent radicals of the benzene series. Preferably the polyolefin is nickel modified polypropylene which may be in the form of filaments, fibres, foils, woven or knitted fabrics. Greenish yellow shades being obtained. |
