<p>In injection moulding apparatus for moulding thermosetting plastics, a hollow screw in a heated cylinder can be rotated and axially moved. This screw plasticises and transports the material. The injection piston is arranged within the screw and the piston pushes the plastic into the moulds. After a hardening period, the piston is withdrawn and it leaves free the chamber into which the screw can transport the plastic material. The arrangement ensures that pressure is maintained on the thermosetting plastic during the hardening period in the mould. The plasticising screw surrounding the piston can carry out plasticising process during this period. The plasticising and injecting processes are separated and they do not influence each other.</p> |
