MANUFACTURE OF INFRARED OPTICAL FIBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To restrain stress strain and heat strain to minimum in process of molding and improve extrusion rate in process of fiber manufacturing by specifying the extrusion temperature as regards of fiberizing a solid solution of a thallium bromide or an iodide bromide by means of warm extrusion method. CONSTITUTION:A KRS-5 single crystal is given to preform processing in a cylindrical shape to fit the shape of a container 4. After setting a preformed crystal 1 in the container 4, fiberization is achieved by setting the temperature within the range of 240 to 270 deg.C and extruding it by applying a pressure of approximately 8 ton/cm on a punch bar 7 using a hydraulic press.
