1,166,574. Control of water heaters. RUDDMELIKIAN Inc. 11 March, 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 11774/68. Heading H2H. [Also in Division H5] In a beverage vending machine containing a liquid required to be maintained at a determined temperature, a heater is controlled by a temperature sensing means positioned in a chamber above the liquid. The heater may be comprised of two elements, one, 22, in the upper part of the liquid and controlled, by a positionally adjustable mercury thermostat 25 sensing vapour temperature, through a relay coil 32 which when de-energized prepares a circuit for a lower element 21 controlled by a thermostat 39 in contact with the chamber wall. The thermostats 25, 39 may be adjusted to act at the same temperature and where only one heater is used it is preferably located at the bottom of the chamber. A float-operated switch 15, 16 controls a valve (not shown), admitting water through a pipe 14 and an outlet pipe 17 leads to various beverage forming stations. |
