A load handling vehicle 1 comprises an hydraulic ram 11 extending arms 6 and 9 pivoted together at 8, and shoes 24 which may be selectively connected by pins 17 to either one or the other ends of the arms 9. In the left-hand position in Fig. 7, the pin 17 connects the shoe 24 with an extension 18, Figs. 2, 4, of the arm 9 and with lugs 19 on the arm 6 so that the arm 9 is locked with respect to the arm 6 and the shoe 24 is not far extended. In the right hand position the pin 17<SP>1</SP> connects the shoe 24<SP>1</SP> with the other end of the arm 9<SP>1</SP> which is free to pivot about pin 8<SP>1</SP> on arm 6<SP>1</SP> and the shoe is far extended. Stops 21 limit the movements of the arms 6. |
