1317347 Fluid logic switching circuits MANUTAR SA 19 April 1971 [ 19 March 1970] 24790/71 Heading F1P [ Also in Divisions G3 and G4] A coding device for ascertaining the angular position of a rotatable shaft of a machine tool comprises a disc secured to the shaft having a plurality of radially and circumferentially spaced holes in which can be inserted interchangeable keys 12, Fig.3. Each key 12 has a number of holes signifying the control information to be transmitted at a particular angular position of the shaft. The presence of a hole permits the passage of a jet of fluid 33, from an orifice 28-32 in a pressurised container 26, to a fluid responsive device 34-38. A fluid responsive device, Fig.4, comprises an inlet 39 supplied with a pressurized fluid which, in the absence of a hole, flows out through an outlet 40. When the jet of fluid 33 passes through a hole, it enters the device through an opening 41 and impinges on the jet from inlet 39 to deflect it to an outlet 42 and provide a control signal. |
