Thermoplastic materials have at least one adhesive surface formed by introducing particles of another material which possesses a higher bonding capability than the plastics of the object itself. Specifically, oxides, nitrides, carbides, e.g. sand or asbestos, are applied to the surface in granular form, esp. by warming of the surface in order to bond the particles to it. The method is particularly suitable to olefin plastics which cannot normally be glued in a conventional manner.
|
