Cpds of formula (I): (where R1=2-4C alkyl or phenyl opt. substd. by one or more of NO2, halogen, alkyl and/or alkoxy) are prepd by reacting a cpd. of formula (II): (where R2 is ribosyl opt. with protected OH gps; A is a gp. which can be converted into NH2 by reaction with NH3) with NH3 and opt. removing protecting gps. Cpds (I) are coronary vasodilators and hypontensives.
