PURPOSE:To obtain a supermicro potential difference display device by composing the device of plural numbers of electrolde and a layer of an electrochemical color developing substance covering at least a part of said electrodes and an electrolyte electrodes and by displaying a potential difference by the color tone of the electrochemical color developing substance. CONSTITUTION:Display electrode 20 obtained by coating the surface of a transparent conductor layer of tin oxide, etc., on glass substrate 1 with tangsten oxide (WO3) layer 3, and counter electrode 10 of platinum, etc., are held in electrolyte 8 obtained by dissolving an electrolyte, such an lithium perchlorate, in a solvent such as propylene carbonate. In the electrochemical system like this, a triangular wave is outputted from function generator 14 as a voltage signal source and WO3 electrode potential E is inputted to axis X of X-Y recorder 15; and halogen lamp 16 installed outside of cell 14 lightens the substrate and variation in reflected light intensity due to the coloring of WO3 is inputted to axis Y of recorder 15 via photomultiplier 17. Thus, the variation in reflected light intensity from the surface of the WO3 electrode is measured to realize the supermicro potential difference measuring device. |
