摘要 PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of welding by using a preceding electrode and a succeeding electrode for which diameter and distance are specified and performing welding using sintered type flux when welding specified narrow gap by one layer and one pass. CONSTITUTION:When welding a narrow gap of 10-25mm. in groove width and less than 15 deg. in groove angle by submerged arc welding of one layer and one pass, a relatively small diameter, 1.6-3.2mm., electrode is used as a preceding electrode, and a relatively large diameter, 4.0-4.8mm., electrode is used as a succeeding electrode, and the distance between the two electrodes is made to 50- 150mm.. Under this state, submerged arc welding is performed using sintered type flux. The flux is made to contain 20-40% TiO2, 20-40% Al2O3, 10-30% SiO2, 4-15% CO2 originated from carbonates (CaCO3 etc.). Thus, efficiency of welding can be improved by more than about 20%.
