PURPOSE:To provide the title resin compsn. which has excellent moldability, heat resistance, strength, slide abrasion, etc. and low anisotropy in a coefficient of linear expansion, by blending a polyphenylene sulfide resin with a reinforcing fiber and spherical silica in a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:15-87wt% polyphenylene sulfide resin (A) is mixed with 3-25wt% reinforcing fiber (B) (e.g., glass fiber, carbon fiber) and 10-82wt% spherical silica (C) to obtain the desired polyphenylene sulfide resin compsn. The compsn. is suitable for use in the production of electrical and electronic components, automobile parts, etc. As the polyphenylene sulfide resin of the component A, resins composed of a unit of the formula are preferred. The resins can be prepd. by reacting sodium sulfide with p-dichlorobenzene in a solvent such as dimethylformamide. |
