<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric heating catalyst carrier capable of achieving a high-speed temperature elevation and capable of also sufficiently ensuring a catalytic area. <P>SOLUTION: The electric heating catalyst carrier is constituted by inserting a core 1, which is formed by the multiple-winding of a foil material 2 consisting of a metal thin sheet centering around a center electrode 3, into an outer cylinder 4 made of a metal and electrically connecting the outer cylinder 4 and the core 1 as well as the center electrode 3 and the core 1.
