PURPOSE: To feed an electrode into a guide head so as not to cause slack or rocking by allowing the electrode to make one round around a wheel, and then to be fed in the direction of the tangent to the wheel, and providing means for making the flows of fluid circulating around the periphery of the wheel. CONSTITUTION: A means for feeding an electrode 1 in the direction of the tangent to a wheel 31 is provided. Further, the electrode 1 is allowed to make the round of the wheel 31 and then is fed in the direction of the tangent to the wheel 31. Means 71 to 76 for making the flows of fluid circulating around the periphery of the wheel are provided. In order for tensile force to be applied to the wire- or ribbon-like electrode 1 to act exclusively in the axial direction of the electrode 1, and for the guide of the electrode 1 in machining area in a straight path to be insured, the electrode 1 is fed into a guide head 3 so as not to cause slack or rocking. |
