IMAGE PROCESSOR AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method, capable of making an image further viewable.

SOLUTION: The image processor comprises a control point storage part 1 for storing two or more sets of control points; a luminance average calculation part 2 for calculating an average luminance of an image; a control point selection part 3 for selecting a control point based on the calculated average luminance; a luminance correction curve creation part 4 for creating a smooth correction curve with a spline function by use of the selected control point; a LUT storage part 5 for storing the created correction curve; and a luminance correction processing part 6 for correcting a luminance signal by use of the stored correction curve and outputting the result. The smooth correction curve created by the luminance correction curve creation part 4 passes through a designated specific luminance value.
