<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device to decide peripheral artery capacity and characteristics of compliance. CONSTITUTION: Pressure measurement is carried out by expanding and contracting a blood pressure cuff 10 in the circumference of a body and limbs. Capacity of air excluded from the cuff 10 is found by excluding air through an opening of a public characteristic or by a determinable method such as a means of capacity of the public characteristic. Vibrating capacity is computed by a computer by using detected pressure and capacity of excluded air, and thereafter, artery capacity and compliance are displayed as functions of transmural pressure and time by using it. It is possible to display the artery capacity from the viewpoint of an artery radius, an artery cross-sectional area or the artery capacity. It is especially useful for an anesthesiologist and a surgeon to display these characteristics as functions before and after dosing an anesthetic.</p> |
