The present invention relates to a horizontal type shock wave tester which measures shock survivability with respect to a specimen by simulating dual shock wave generated in an underwater blasting environment on the ground. According to the present invention, the horizontal type shock wave tester comprises: a second shock wave forming unit (20) forming a second shock wave by a first shock wave inputted from a first shock wave forming unit (10) installed in one side of a stopping mass (M2) mounting the specimen (S); and a shock wave controller (30) controlling the second shock wave forming unit to change a cycle and size of the second shock wave in accordance with a cycle and size of the first shock wave.
