PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grammar generation method for a simple datatype.SOLUTION: A grammar generation method includes receiving of an extensible markup language schema definition (XSD) which comprises: a first element including a first simple datatype; and a second element including a second simple datatype different from the first simple datatype. A grammar is generated based on XSD. The grammar is related to encoding and decoding of an extensible markup language (XML) document to efficient XML interchange (EXI) stream and from the EXI stream, on the basis of the XSD.
