PURPOSE:To obtain the new title derivative for ligand of asymmetric synthesis reaction, etc., by reacting a specific phosphinylferrocene with a strong base, then reacting the reaction product with halogen, subjecting the resultant reaction product to homocoupling in the presence of a metal catalyst, subjecting the coupled compound to optical resolution and reducing the resultant optically active compound. CONSTITUTION:Phosphinylferrocene [e.g. diphenylphosphinyl) ferrocene] expressed by formula I (Ar is aryl) is reacted with a strong base and then reacted with halogens to afford dl-halogenoferrocenylphosphineoxide expressed by formula II (Y is halogen), which is then subjected to homocoupling in the presence of a metal catalyst to give dl-biphosphinylferrocene expressed by formula III and the dl-biphosphinylferrocene expressed by formula III is subjected to optical resolution using an optically active organic acid and then reduced to provide the objective optically active biferrocene [e.g. 2,2'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-biferrocene]. |
