An anti knock concentrate comprises tetramethyl lead and 10 to 150% of a hydrocarbon liquid boiling in the range from 100 DEG to 120 DEG C. The hydrocarbon can be straight- or branchedchain paraffins, olefines, aromatics, or naphthenes, suitable ones being listed. Scavengers, e.g. ethylene dibromide and dichloride, dibromotoluenes, b ,b 1-dichlorodiethyl ether and 2-chloro-4-nitropentane, and anti-oxidants, e.g. ditertiary butyl phenol, may also be present. |
