1,061,391. Catch fastenings; hinges. N. KITAYAMA. April 13, 1964 [April 18, 1963], No. 15243/64. Headings E2A and E2F. [Also in Division G2] Fig. 3 shows a square frame in which a film is mounted. The four corners are cut away as shown, and each face of the cut away portions has a small hemispherical recess, as at 2. The connecting members are two channelshaped brackets 3, Fig. 4, fixed back-to-back, and having on the turned-over flanges small depressions 4 which engage in the recesses 2. Thus one pair of brackets 3 serves to connect together two frames such as 1, and a series of frames may be connected together in this way to form a chain, Fig. 1. The various dimensions are such that the frames can hinge freely about the connecting brackets, and can fold up zig-zag fashion to lie with the frames flat one against another. The frames are readily detachable and interchangeable, so that any sequence of film frames can be made up into a chain for feeding to a projector. Since the frame 1 is entirely symmetrical, it can be turned round so as to bring any edge into engagement with the connecting bracket, and can face either way. |
