Apparatus for embedding a flexible-sealing and joint forming strip 58 in uncured concrete 10 comprises a pair of converging wheels 122 mounted between projections 138 of spaced arms 140 on a bent axle 130, and between which the flexible strip is gripped as it emerges from a guide element 184, and is pressed into the concrete as the wheels rotate in a clockwise direction. A pair of electrical vibrators 152 are mounted on a transverse strap and have vibrator arms 154 connected to axle 130 by caps 156 and bolts 158. The arms 140 are pivoted on a shaft 170 mounted between brackets 172 mounted on propulsion equipment 16 which moves on rails at the sides of the concrete. The rails may be side walls of shuttering. The wheels may be lifted clear of the concrete by supplying fluid to hydraulic cylinders 176 pivoted to the propulsion equipment at 178 and the pistons of which are connected to a bar 180 spanning the arms 140. |
