The handles, or actuating members, are associated with rotating bodies such as control and switching shafts, valves etc, and must be capable of free rotation about a mounting pivot but proof against axial withdrawal. A retaining ring is located in an annular groove at the base of the handle and is rigidly secured to the handle by swaging or compression. It is made of a plastic pin and the inner face of the handle piece part itself is assisted by a flat compression washer of a creep proof and rigid plastic material e.g. polyphenylene oxide. |
