A machine for manufacturing blanks, such as nut or bolt blanks is characterized in that the blanks are successively subjected to a series of processing operations in shaping dies 17a- 17d, provided with ejecting means and disposed equidistantly along a straight path 21, and transfer means are provided including arms 1a-1d which rotate about parallel axes such that they describe curves which are elongate with respect to the path 21. The levers are mounted on gears 2a-2d which are driven by pinions 14a-14d said gears and pinions being mounted rotatably on connecting links 15a-15d. The pinions are driven by internal gearing 10a-10d and also engage with fixed gearing 13a-13d so that the pinions describe a circle in the annuli formed by gearing 10a-10d, 13a-13d. Any point on the levers 1a-1d other than their axes of rotation describes an ellipse, Fig. 5 (not shown), the long axis of which is parallel to the path 21. Selected levers 1b-1d carry cam members 23b-23d which co-operate with members 24b-24d attached to abutments 22b-22d to move the abutments out of the path of the blanks being transferred. The abutments are returned to their blocking position by springs 25b-25d. The operation of the levers is synchronized with the operation of the shaping means.</p> |
