SPLIT BRUSH SEAL AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To provide a segmented brush seal of a small distortion bend or other form change. CONSTITUTION: A seal 10 comprises two circular plates with plural tightly filled bristles extended radially inward toward a common axis of the plural plates held in the form of a sandwich. The bristles are arranged at a constant circumferential skew angle relative to either circular plate. The circular side plate 25 having a larger inner diameter than an inner diameter of the circular backing plate includes plural tabs extended radially inward from the inner diameter of it. These tabs are extended to a substantially similar diameter to the inner diameter of the circular backing plate.
