PURPOSE: To enable an operator to easily move a hand-held pointer device by displaying a menu in a circular zone area and specifying the curvature of the zone area. CONSTITUTION: The menu 30 for display on a view screen is displayed as a disk and sectioned into three types. In a 1st outside zone area 31, main options 31a -31h for current operation are arranged and at a 2nd part 32, a suboption relating to a highlighted main option is shown; and operation to be performed is selected at a 3rd part 33. Then the radius of curvature of the circular zone area where the options are displayed is set within a maximum distance (15cm) that the hand-held pointer device can reach without the movement of an operator's hand. Therefore, the operator can follow up along the curved line of a center area below the hand and easily reach a target area, and the movement quantity of the pointer device decreases.
