PURPOSE:To attain recording/reproducing with high density by forming a frequency-modulated signal onto a minute circular recording bit so as to record the change in duty ratio corresponding to the change in the area of circle. CONSTITUTION:When a frequency-modulated sound signal as shown in (b) as an information signal is recorded on a magnetic recording medium as the change in duty ratio by using the optomagnetic recording method, the change in the duty ratio is represented by the size of a circular beam spot (recording bit), i.e. change in area, and a laser is irradiated to the magnetic recording medium at a prescribed frequency, taking into consideration that a minute recording bit is made circular by the magnetic wall energy, so as to form a minute recording bit as shown in (f). In reproducing the pattern of this recording bit, a reproduced modulating wave (g) is obtained to the pattern (f). |
